[CLIENT]
Ginnastica Dinamica Militare Italiana is an Italian fitness method built around high-intensity bodyweight training, combining physical performance, coordination, and group dynamics. Since its founding, the discipline has grown into one of the most widespread training networks in the country, with over 300 certified centers active across Italy.
The rapid expansion of the network brought with it a structural challenge: the brand identity was being interpreted independently by each center, without shared guidelines or a unified visual language. The result was a fragmented and inconsistent communication system, undermining the recognizability and authority of the brand at a national level.
With a growing community of instructors and practitioners, GDMI needed a visual identity strong enough to hold together a large and decentralized network — consistent, scalable, and immediately recognizable across every touchpoint.
[PROJECT]
The project addressed the need to reorganize and standardize the brand identity across the entire GDMI network. The objective was to develop a cohesive visual system capable of ensuring consistency at scale, while remaining flexible enough to be applied independently by hundreds of centers across the country.
The work began with the development of a custom typographic approach inspired by stencil lettering — a reference to both military discipline and structural rigor. This became the visual foundation of the entire identity, informing every subsequent design decision and giving the brand a distinctive and ownable aesthetic language.
From this foundation, a comprehensive set of brand guidelines and communication tools was developed to support instructors and centers in applying the identity correctly. The system was designed to be practical and self-sufficient, enabling uniform brand application without requiring centralized oversight.
The result is a coherent and authoritative identity, capable of scaling alongside the network's continued growth while maintaining strong visual recognition at every level.
